Accommodation at Fonteinplaas is available in two historic farmhouses, that of Oupa Piet Mostert and Pietjie and Hester Swanepoel. Guests will experience the way the Gamkaskloofers lived and will also see the architecture and building methods used in Gamkaskloof since the same materials and building methods were used when restoring the house of Pietjie and Hester Swanepoel, presumed to be the oldest house in Gamkaskloof. Accommodation is on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis although both houses are fully equipped for self-catering. There are also 7 equipped caravans at "Piet se Staning" as well as numerous tent camping sites with running water. Two ablution blocks with flush toilets and gas hot water systems service the camp sites. |

The house of Pietjie and Hester Swanepoel Sleeps 5 persons Because of its historic status this house does not have solar powered lighting. Guests have to use the supplied candles and paraffin lamps - adding to the Gamkaskloof experience. The house was extended by adding rooms as the family grew. These rooms do not have interior doors into the house but only onto the porch.
